Sunday mornings. Unless you're very unlucky, this is one of those times where you can relax and forget about work. But it's also a time when those little jobs start calling out to you, demanding your attention. Like mowing the lawn. Can't you get a robotic mower to do this dirty little job for you?
You bet. If you're bored of cutting the grass every few weeks, you're going to love this. The RoboMower RL500 is a one of the new breed of robotic mowers. It works a lot like the Evac and other robot vacuums, except it's function is to keep your lawn looking trim. But are robotic mowers just a toy? Surely they can't match the power of the traditional style of lawn trimmers? You might be surprised. Under it's sexy sports car-esque bonnet there's a 5 horse power cutting system. If you're wondering what that means, it's a very powerful lawn mower. The RL500 kicks some serious green grass butt. Now then, a word on mulching. Because this robotic lawn mower does a lot of that. And it's one of the ways it differs from your regular lawn mowers. On the RL500 there's no bag. There's no box to remove. It chews all the grass away and compresses it down to make it easy to remove. What about safety? This wouldn't be much of a product if one of the nosey kids from the neighbourhood flipped it over just out of curiosity. Apart from the mess, it wouldn't do much for the RL500's reputation. Fortunately the robotic mowers are 100% safe. Pick it up and a safety mechanism kicks in and shuts it down. How easy is it? Don't worry. Even if you've got a really bad hangover from the night before, the RL500 doesn't take too much figuring out. Actually it's ridiculously easy. Plonk it on the lawn and press 'go'. No really - that's all there is to it. I tested this robotic lawn mower on my front and back lawn and was surprised how well it did. And you should have seen my neighbour's faces.
