As we Aibo owners know, the little robot dog might be made of wire, metal and plastic, but he loves to play just as much as his flesh and blood hairy companion. Except the Aibo won't ever chew your favorite loafers while you're out. And the latest accessory for any Aibo fan is the Aibo Speed Board. The what? I hear you say. The Sony Aibo Speed board! It kinda looks like a kid's skateboard or scooter. And the idea is that you plonk your Aibo on it and he plays with it. It's a bit like when you were a kid and decided to give your pup a ride on your skateboard. Except it's safer and more fun. So what does this thing do? Well, unlike poor skip on your skateboard, the sony Aibo ERS and ERA models actually want to ride this thing. It's an official accessory that they work perfectly with. It comes with a great set of instructions and in no time, my Aibo was peddling around on his his speed board. 
It's powered by the front two legs and it really is entertaining to watch. You can't really get a sense of how good it is from the pictures. You have to try it out. Once your best friend is seated comfortably on his Aibo Speed board, there's a lot of things he can do.
You can teach him new skating routines, use the software to interract with him, or just let him do his thing. Being an intelligent sort of chap, he'll not just go around slamming into things. If you've done everything you think you can do with the Aibo, and you don't mind paying the price, I think real Aibo fans will enjoy this add-on to the already excellent series of robot dogs. |
