Robot Rage is a futuristic 3D action based game which allows competitors to fight each other over the web. You pick your robot, create it and then fight with other robotic monsters in 'the Arena'. Although it might sound like a bit of a no-brainer, you'll be surprised how tricky (and addictive) this game is. But let's not get too far ahead here. The first step is to build yourself a bot that will kick some serious metallic arse. Although you can't afford any of the more interesting weapons from the robot shop when you start out, you will be able to equip your machine with some rudimentary tools. Having kitted yourself out with a basic bashing bot, it's time to find someone to pick a fight with. Robot Rage allows you to challenge people of a similar experience level from anywhere in the world. If you've used basic chat rooms before - you'll find this bit easily. Having found someone to scrap, and having my robot at the ready, I entered the Arena. There's not too much to familiarize yourself with on the screen. Your main priority is your robot's health bar. Once this is depleted, it's adios Robby - and you've lost. Your mission is to turn your opponent into space junk before that energy runs out. Unfortunately, not unlike my sex life, the game was all over too quickly. And my robot was hurled into a pit and roasted on with a flame thrower. Apparently there was some skill involved in this after all. But I couldn't wait to get back in there. And one of the coolest things is that you can sit and play this game online for free - all day long. There are extras you can purchase, as you'll see when you get in there, but you'll always be able to play this robot game for free. Robot Rage is violent, furious and very exciting. It's hard to imagine anyone not enjoying this bit of mindless robo mayhem. Score: 8 / 10 |
