Blo Bot: A Great Little RC Robot

I blinked as it glided past my desk the first time. It has been a late night before, and your eyes can play tricks on you after a day in the office. But the second time it skimmed past my knees, I knew it was real. This was the first time I saw what I now know is Blo Bot.

It's time to face facts here: Blo Bot has absolutely no robotic function whatsoever. There's really no reason for this thing to be here. He has no practical purpose whatsoever other than to make you (and any of your visiting guests) laugh your socks off.

So what is it? Blo Bot is a radio controlled toy robot. But that doesn't quite cover his strange attributes. For some reason, this is the world's first inflatable RC robot. Yep, only Blo Bot's base is solid. His body and head are blown up by you when you order it.

Even though it had been a long hard day working at the Robot Lab office, it still made me laugh when I saw one of the lads here mastering the controls of blo bot. You just can't help smiling at this thing.

One really nice little feature that does warrant the rather steep price tag for Blo Bot however is the built in walkie talkie. There's a transmitter on the radio control device which lets you make Blo Bot say just about anything you like. Whether you want your RC robot to sing, swear or demand another beer from the kitchen - you can do all that.

I did mention that Blo Bot had absolutely no practical use - but that's not strictly true. He does have a pouch on his back which can carry goods from the kitchen back to your comfortable spot on the sofa. Of course, you'll need to issue commands to a willing third party to fill the pack up with goodies. *

* That didn't go down well when I tried it!
